Exhale: ABSTRACTING NATURE SERIES
“The greatest cathedral of all is nature itself. “ ~Rodney Cobb
I explore the ephemeral nature of beauty and growth through mixed-media compositions. Using a combination of oil, acrylic, hand-crafted collage, graphite, and oil stick on canvas, I create layered assemblages that evoke the complexity and transience of nature.
Change is inevitable - just like when a garden is hitting its peak glory, it’s already tipping over the edge. My work captures fleeting moments of nature. By selectively rendering shapes, forms, and shadows that resonate with me, I distill the essence of lush botanicals, bright blue skies, and deep water into a more personal visual language. Pieces of drawings done on paper, mixed with line and color - they all intertwine to form a new nature scape.
My work is done using oil, acrylic, hand-made collage, graphite, and oil stick on canvas. The interplay of various media – each with its own role and texture – reflects the diverse elements composed by Mother Nature.
This body of work serves as a metaphor for personal growth and adaptability. Nature, like each of us, is perpetually evolving. Growth, decay, death, rebirth. Through these pieces, I invite viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between permanence and change, and the beauty that emerges from embracing life's ongoing transformations.
