FAILURE FINDS US ALL
Failure Finds Us All [t-h-i-n-k]
Failure is so universal that we must wonder why more self-help gurus don’t address it. Bookstores overflow with volumes on how to succeed, but you’ll look a long time before you find a section called “How to Succeed at Failing.”
If you don’t have any failures, you’re not taking enough risks. You’re playing it safe. You’re choosing the “popular designer colors”. You’re following the crowd. You’re fitting in. You’re not submitting your work to a favorite gallery. You’re not entering shows. You’re not participating in an open studio event. You’re not messaging the designer back. You’re not showing your work. You’re not doing all of these things because you’re ultimately trying to avoid failure.
Life is short and nobody cares.
STOP. HOLDING. BACK.
If you’re not failing, you’re not trying new things. And you’re missing an opportunity to be better. “When people succeed, they party. When people fail, they ponder. What’s good about that? It’s in pondering and searching that new ideas are created.” [Tony Robbins]
