The cost, you ask? The cost is frustration, telling yourself you’re not good enough, comparing (like all the time), failing because you had no plan, reacting rather than responding, wondering why other artists are more successful, feeling paralyzed, unsure, and as if you’re the only one on the planet feeling this way. Turns out, many artists, including myself, have felt ALL these things. This is because we lacked strategy.
So what is strategy? Strategy isn’t a wish or a dream. It’s a plan, a flexible plan. Because you can’t control everything. But there’s a LOT you can control and there’s a lot you can do to help this year be BETTER than last.

If you’ve ever wanted to make $$$ from your art, this isn’t something that typically just “happens” to you. But it does happen when you’ve put yourself in a position to make it very likely. This means dreaming big and planning your year: things like applying to shows, getting into galleries, doing an open studio event - - - all the things that put your art in front of more eyeballs. The more sales opportunities, the more chances your art will sell more frequently. There are no guarantees in life, but if no one sees your art, how do you think anyone will buy it? It’s time to lessen the load and get rid of the piles in 2025. If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to dream big, plan your year, and reverse engineer your income.
